Puppy Breathe

It never fails, no matter who meets these puppies or any for that matter, most people always comment on "Puppy Breathe." The most common is "Oh they even have Puppy Breathe." Cute yes but seriously if you think about it is gross & no one walks around newborns, say babies, and say "oh they even have Baby Breathe." LoL I may be wrong but babies are usually referred to as "Oh such a little peanut." or along the lines of that! :0) Not complaining just don't think it will be my million dollar idea if I submit "Puppy Breathe" as the next Perfume to be a hit! ) But never say never!
10 Days into owning these two wonders has still yet to go old! Not that I can even entertain the thought that it would. These two sure are going through a obvious growth spurt :( but at least I know they are showing good signs of health! That's all that matters! They are a loads of entertainment to say the least! Yesterday they ventured on their first walk to the bus stop and they did excpetionally well on the leash and considering the awful snow covered sidewalks they had to trek through. I was impressed needless to say! Now that I know they can handle it come first day back to school "Next Year" they will be starting off the year on the right Paw! hahaha! Where my mind comes up with this is beyond me but I love it! :0) I need to take a creative writing class to expand my horizons! :0)
On to chewing...these two are amazing NOTHING has been given away to Puppy Damage...I know it's early in the game but worth bragging! The worst of it has been a few belongings in the kennel i.e. socks & this morning was my ear warmers, that kinda sticks out like it doesn't belong...lol and Apollo has a need to drink Christmas Tree Water, lol why I don't know the dish is full but I'm assuming Puppy & Pine may go together! Oh wait I got it "Puppy Pine Breath" thats the million $ idea. Petco, Purina Beware! I'm Unleashing Apollo & Athena! :0) Any Takers on wanting to come over and smell Apollo's Puppy Breathe now! :0)
I have to commend these two for already being Kennel trained...Amazes me how fast, I just leave the door open during the day and Apollo & Athena go right in and plop down chew "their" chew toys and consider it their Puppy Palace! I have even adorned it with a hanging flower on the inside! :0) I just have BIG ideas about Modge Podging the kennel and when we get a second one it's Gonna be His & Hers. The Vision has started and I foresee excellent results in the future! Possibly in the year 20$$. So much better put that way than 2011. At least I think! But I'm always thinking! As long as I don't answer myself I'm good! :0)
So Christmas Eve 2010 only 1 day away :( it's come & gone just about way TOOOO fast. As much as I'm looking forward to tomorrow night I know to that will be a beautiful memory way to soon! The girls & the pups are gonna be so surprised for a Santa Surprise from The North Pole when they get the Key to the room at Water Park of America. It's gonna be a Priceless Gift...much beats wrapping junk, clothes, techie stuff, etc. they won't remember they got the next day! :0) This will be lodged in their memory for a long long time! This to me is the Gift of Giving!
Oh one more I remembered just looking at Athena's collar...Apollo has put some damage to that, seems to be the great attacking/latching & pulling part on Athena. All I can say is at least collars are cheap and until they are just about full grown they won't have the most stylish of collars. I already have some nice ones I've been eyeing! :0) Well with these pups sleeping under the desk I better get some House Chores done. And a reminder the next time you are around a puppy watch yourself you just might be guilty of saying "oh they even have Puppy Breathe."

Puppy Love

Puppy Love is in The Air. One week today we have had Apollo & Athena and I have watched this home transform into more acts of love then I could have imagined. These two pups have grown, started noticing it yesterday :(, and so has their playfulness. Athena has had a few time outs over the weekend because she feels independence is her gain and showing Apollo she is the boss is the answer. Wrong Athena, drive by tacklings, knocking down Apollo and pinning him so you can chew his legs, ears, tail, etc. is not very nice. I have a feeling Apollo is gonna be bigger than you someday...Just a FYI, can't say I never warned ya! :0)
Apollo & Athena had company stopping by all weekend to see them, hopefully it was us too ;), and wouldn't you figure, they sleep! None of the action I have been praising of them could they demonstrate. Tried to rouse them and they wanted nothing to do with it...Under the coffee table they go into Zzzzzzzzzz Land. Maybe they are just trying to get the most out of lying under the table because they know it won't be happening to much longer :0). I heart these two soooo much!
Friday these two were very fortunate to enter into The Business World they felt it was time to start Networking for The Paw Street Journal...lol So off to Derek's office they went! Of Course they were a puppy hit and Derek's office was busier than he wanted it to be! :0) I call on my way to work to find out how they were and they were, give you 3 guesses and the first 2 don't count, Sleeping! I pick them up about 4 hours later and of course the typical, oh they are so cute, blah, blah, blah, and I can't believe how calm they have been! I guess I should be counting my blessings because I foresee days not like this! :0) But I'll be more than ready for the fun!
Presently, I feel like I am in a tiger cage...lol! These two at times really go at it, like right now, and the intensity of their growling grows, there pitter patter paws running away from each other gets faster and then the all to famous Thump, one gets tackled! hahahaha I have a feeling a time out is near!
But in the end all it really is is Puppy Love! :0)

Fourth day into being in their new home Apollo & Athena are just loving it! I think the comforts here are a tad better than their first 7 weeks of life living in a pen in a cold barn! No bark about it they definitely got the love from their mommy and other brothers and sisters and to them it was probably a 5 Star Puppy Resort! :0) These Cutie PawTooties are really learning about their little ferocious growling and barking as each of them try to defend themselves in the puppy play they keep emBarking on. Their really trying to Paw their ground! I just can't get enough of their little puppy antics! Words can't decribe their cuteness and fuzzy balls of energy! They sure are learning fast about their kennel 2nd night was a piece of cake. A little whining right when I put them in and then their out like a light! They woke last night about 3 they pottied and came right back in to their kennel and went to sleep...That's what I'm barking about! :0) As young as they are they are gonna be picking up tricks of the puppy trade rather quickly! They already know the sound of the door opening, especially to come in, and the puppy chow dumping into their dishes. Not a bad start! Their just about pros at sitting for a treat too and for sitting for pictures...their not to fond of the props that I force upon them but their learning to be little charmers for the camera! Phone camera til i get a new one! Baaarggghhhkkk! I'm turning into a Puppy Pirate! :0)

I Am In Puppy Heaven FurrrReal

First day Home...Who could wait as long as we had set out to til Wednesday...No One because these pups are soooo Pawsitively Cute! Derek & I had had talked about it a bit last night and of course woke with the thought that I should go get them and I was sticking to rearranging the plan. Got the girls off to school with them crossing their fingers that they would be coming home to the pups and I phoned and woke Maul Lee up to see if she would trek out to Brownton, MN with me, about a 50 minute drive. She was all for it so I called the pups owner left a message and patiently waited til she phoned back. Ring a Ling, I jumped to see who it was and it was her area code...ahhh the first moment of joy. We chatted a bit I asked "if I could come out and pick them up" and she said "sure do remember which ones are yours" and I said "yes" she goes on to say "your female is the all black one with a white spot right?" a big swallow later I said "ah, No the other one was" because there were only 2 My heart started racing...she said " oh no let me call my husband and I will call you back." I had a moment of huge devastation, texted Derek, patiently waited for her to call back and had many thoughts racing through my mind. She calls, "I was wrong we are keeping that female yours is out there too" Thank Puppy Heavens. :0) I quickly scrambled to get out the door pick Maul lee up and off we were into MN farm country. It was a perfect sunny day but with wind chills dipping well below 0 Brrrr...I needed some Fury Friends to warm me up.
Arrived once again only to the best Male shepherd I have yet to meet named Shadow...I can only keep my paws crossed our boy turns out to be the charmer he is! Out comes the owner and away we went into the barn to get our pups, two out of the only four remaining and the other two were leaving tomorrow! Maul Lee's first reaction like ours was "Awwwww" Pups definitely warm the soul! I hopped in the pen but with hesitation because the pups mom is watching every move and the owner said "She'll be fine" I found the female right away and handed her to Maul Lee then looked for the little boy with silvery paws and was so happy to have lifted him up to my arms. After letting the mother dog kiss both of them and lick them like crazy we were off. The pups were bundled in a blanket on Maul Lee's lap the whole way and they never really budged the whole time I couldn't help buy love them up Promise my eyes were on the road the whole time ;))) Dropped Maul Lee off and home bound we were first stop potty break before we go into the house...Athena was successful but Apollo wanted nothing to do with the word "potty" brought them in to sniff around and amidst the wimpering and getting acclemated they only wanted that blanket they came home on. I introduced them to their food and water dish and both of them drank like the water was going out of style and when Apollo realized what was in the other bowl well his two paws and mouth went diving in and I don't think he took a gasp of air for several minutes lol. Athena so appreciated lunch too but not quite like Apollo. :0) Well all I kept focused on was getting them ready to be alone for about an hour because I had to get to the dentist...Another potty break and failed attempt of Apollo left me no choice but to expect a little duty call when I got back. I left them in our yoga room with the fish lying in their blankie and they looked like trustful little angels. Back a little over an hour later I came to a puppy mess...and grateful I was! I can say that is the only time today that they have made a mess not bad for their first 8 hours.
Girls of course have been loving it up to extremes these two pups are their new BFF's Best Freinds FurrrEver. They game them a bath and they smelled not so much like the farm TG and they are now fluffy little furballs...I love them like magic.
I believe Zena is living through them what a special gift from Puppy Heaven. :0)
Right now its only 730 and they are out like a light...Fireplace Going, Christmas Tree Sparkling, Tons of Snowy Snow Outside, Girls Happy Chatter in the Background with Dad, and I thankfully witnessing all of the JOY! Welcome to your new home filled with love Apollo & Athena and thank you for adding to our Magic!

The Tail Spin Stops Here

Move over Bill Oreilly, Athena & Apollo are coming in for a Pawing. The Tail Spin Stops Here! :0) I am so excited on getting these two pups. We went to Petco today and got collars and leashes AND a Clicker...I am all up on this Clicker Training. A Huge $1.95 Investment and I am gonna live by the results of what I have seen of animals in training. Further research into it...I have found that the whales, dolphins, animals for TV are all trained by this El Cheapo committment. The Click is such a distinct sound that once the pup does the command you ask it...you click and reward. Simple yes I just hope it pans out. With the time on my hands i.e. blogging without pay...I can do this with success! :0) That will be a paycheck in itself I will feel worthy of! Ha! I'm keeping my pups paws crossed! :0) Someday my writing will paw off! hahaha! Ohhh My Pups will Be Sooooooo Cute and they Can't wait to meet Lil Hoot! :0)
